I use a variety of Therapeutic Approaches in our work together:
-
EMDR is a therapy approach that helps you process and heal from distressing experiences that may still feel emotionally overwhelming. Through a structured process that may include eye movements, tapping, or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain reprocess difficult memories so they become less intense and disruptive. Many people find that memories remain important but no longer carry the same emotional charge.
-
Somatic therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and body. Stress, trauma, and difficult emotions can sometimes become stored in physical sensations, tension, or patterns of nervous system activation. Somatic therapy helps you increase awareness of bodily sensations and develop tools to regulate your nervous system, promoting a greater sense of safety, balance, and emotional well-being.
-
CBT helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It focuses on identifying unhelpful patterns and developing practical strategies to support positive change.
DBT teaches skills to manage emotions, cope with stress, improve relationships, and stay grounded in the present moment.
Mindfulness involves paying attention to the present moment with openness and awareness. It can help reduce stress and improve emotional balance.
Self-compassion is the practice of treating yourself with kindness and understanding, especially during difficult times. It supports resilience, self-acceptance, and emotional well-being.
-
Narrative therapy is based on the idea that people are not defined by their problems. This approach helps you explore the stories you tell yourself about your live and experiences, identify unhelpful narratives, and develop new perspectives that reflect your strengths, values, and resilience. By reshaping these stories, you can create more empowering ways of understanding ourselves and your experiences.
“Parts Work” (or IFS) views the mind as made up of different "parts," each with its own thoughts, feelings, and roles. Some parts may work to protect us, while others may carry pain from past experiences. IFS helps you build a compassionate relationship with these parts, fostering greater self-understanding, healing, and inner harmony. The goal is to help you access your core Self—a calm, confident, and compassionate inner presence.

Play-based therapy uses play, creativity, and age-appropriate activities to help children express emotions, process experiences, and develop coping skills. Through play, children can communicate their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels natural, safe, and engaging.
Parenting coaching provides guidance, support, and practical strategies to help you navigate challenges and strengthen their relationship with their children. Together, we explore effective approaches to communication, behaviour management, emotional regulation, and building a positive family environment.
